December 10, 2011 at Cancun Cantina marked one of the biggest trivia events ever in Tri-State area. At over 40 teams and about 300 people, this game was insanely fun! And taking down the Number 1 spot was Slapsgiving! Congratulations guys and gals! Below is a list of the World Series Season 4 Top 10. Against a 36 team field, SLAPSGIVING TAKES DOWN THE WORLD SERIES SEASON 3 CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE!!! They started off very strong and continued the trend throughout the game. Going into the final, they were threatened by the next couple of teams - Quick Pink and the Vine Gang and Titty Titty Bang. With a 7 point wager and a tough 5 part final (with Bronco Nagurski and the Pony Express rearing their heads) Slapsgiving answered incorrectly. However, their wagering was strategic. Quick Pink also missed and Titty Titty chose the defensive strategy and wagered 0 on the final. The thing is, Cant Sleep Scott's Mom Will Eat Me and Electric Boogaloo can never be counted out. Scott's Mom and Electric Boogaloo went with Nagurski on the sports portion, answering correctly, and inched their way up the ranks. Sweet Sweet moves! Final wagering strategy played an interesting role in this World Series.
After all was said and done, the top 10 teams cashed in on the day and 1st thru 5th took home some sweet memorabilia. Here is how it turned out:
1st: SLAPSGIVING - $2000 and WORLD SERIES SEASON 3 CHAMPIONS - home venue: Barefoot Bernies 2nd: Can't Sleep, Scott's Mom Will Eat Me - $1000 and RUNNER UP - home venue: Guidos 3rd: Titty Titty Bang Bang - $500 - home venue: Champion Billiards 4th: Quick Pink and The Vine Gang - $200 - home venue: Il Forno 5th: Electric Boogaloo - $100 - home venue: Il Forno 6th: Stank Rangers - $50 - home venue: Guidos 7th: Bananatron - $50 - home venue: Il Forno 8th: Team - $50 - home venue: Champion Billiards 9th: Big Test Icicles - $25 - home venue: Valley Grill 10th: TIE Between Dream and Ferrett Finger - $25 - home venue: Champion Billiards and Guidos, respectively.
Congratulations to all of the teams who made it in and thank you so much for playing. I hope you enjoyed playing as much as we (Scott, Ronnie, Brad, Heather, Sam, and I) enjoyed hosting and hanging out with you all season. We have some new ideas we are going to be playing with over the summer in preparation for Season 4 - which, incidentally, will begin accruing points the first week in August. And we round out the season 3 teams with Champions, Krug's Place, and Guidos. The Thursday night games have a unique flare to them that is all their own. I think I can speak for Scott and Ronnie - and really all the hosts: Heather, Brad, and Samantha as well - in saying we so love doing this. We have all made some great friends and we get to watch awesome games between very talented teams and fun folks! So we thank you for the opportunity to do this for you all on Thursday nights. It rounds out the trivia week and gives each of us a ton of pleasure to host these games. Thank you infinite! And good luck in post season baby! Here's how it looks:

Valley Grill, the view, the beautiful golf course, and a fun bunch of folks battled it out this season in Middletown. I have heard some epic stories from Ronnie about some nights at the Valley Grill that will go down in Pour House history - fun times, so appreciate you all! Good luck in the playoffs/ world series. And so Season 3 came to a close tonight at Monkey La La with Superpowers taking down the house title! Congratulations and thanks to all of the La La teams who played this season. You all make Tuesday nights a blast! I. World series Season 3 will be held Saturday, June 11th at Cancun Cantina in Hagerstown, MD. Sign-ins will be at NOON. Game at 1:10pm.
II. Playoffs are broken into 2 brackets: Bracket 1: if your home venue is Il Forno, Monkey La La, or Barefoot Bernies, YOU WILL BE PLAYING PLAYOFFS at Il Forno Sunday, June 5th - sign-ins at 7pm, game at about 7:30pm. Bracket 2: if your home venue is Champions, Memories, Guidos, or Krugs Place you will be playing at Champion Billiards Sunday, June 5th - sign-ins at NOON, game at about 12:30pm.
* BOTH PLAYOFF VENUES HAVE SAME NUMBER OF INVITES SO THE NUMBER OF TEAMS AT EACH WILL BE ROUGHLY THE SAME (I.E. NEITHER VENUE WILL BE "EASIER" TO QUALIFY AT).
**Teams from Valley Grill will be assigned to either of the venues on an individual basis, based on the input you gave Ronnie recently at one of the games. And those invites will be given on Wednesday, June 1st at the Valley Grill nightly game.
***Based on how many teams there are at the playoffs, some teams will be eligible to play in the World Series; again, held on June 11th at Cancun Cantina.

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for playing in the World Season II event. It was such a great time on our end! It is very rewarding to see everyone together, having a good time. In the end, that's what it's all about. So thank you to EVERYONE! I sincerely appreciate you playing and enjoying Pour House Trivia.
With that...Congrats to the teams who made the Top 10 at World Series Season II! There were 33 teams in the event! To make it into the top 3rd of that field is an accomplishment. It ended wildly! There were a lot of teams that kept themselves in contention - within that magic 12 - for the final question. The category was 2000-2010. When I was tallying the totals I was shivering in anticipation to see how the endgame would play out. Here is how it did:
1st Place - $1200 + $1200 Tao Tao Motor Scooter + World Series Season II Trophy!!! - TURBOZ! Team from Champions who played brilliantly all season! Came from behind in the final question to take it all down. Congratulations guys and gals! You Rocked! 2nd Place- $600 - Ferret Finger - a Guidos team. Last years champions! You all are a serious threat! And from what I hear...can throw quite the after party!!! 3rd Place - $300 - Bananatron - Il Forno house champions! Smart, startegic and consistent. Congrats on top 3 baby! 4th place - $150 - The Dream Team - House Champs at Champion Billiards. Awesome playing all season! Congratulations! 5th Place - $100 - Sara Lee's Sweethearts - Barefoot Bernies Team and the highest ranking team from Bernie's in the World Series! Mucho Props! 6th Place- $50 - Suck it Trebek - team from Bernies.Wow! what to say...led the whole World Series and had to go through the worst upset in Pour House history (as it has been described on facebook). Congrats, you all rocked! Damn Conseco!!! 7th Place - $50 - Extra Ham for Giovanni - Il Forno team. A strategic ZERO wager on final put them in top 10! Love it! Brilliantly played guys n gals! 'Gratz! 8th Place- $50 - TUNAFIST!!! - Il Forno team. Last years runner up! And they will kick yer ass at Roller Derby! Luv ya! Congrats! 9th Place - $50 -Slapsgiving - Bernies House Champs. A doctor, a professor and a Subway owner walk into a bar... you guys slay! Damn Father Time! 10th Place - $50 - Roadhead - Il Forno team. Colorful and smart! Love the Santa outfit :) Great job yall! Congratulations!
